History Of The Electrical Grid

At this point in time, due to COVID 19,
the ISA Cleveland Section is not having in-person face-to-face program
meetings.
About The Topic:
The Cleveland Section Board is planning to have a virtual meeting
on Wednesday Oct. 7th from 7:00-8:30 P.M. The topic will
be"History of Electrical Grid". You will be able to attend the
virtual meeting using Microsoft Teams. The link to attend the
virtual meeting will be in October Website and Newsletter. There will also
be a phone number and conference ID if you wish to attend audio only,
you will need to download it which will be in October Website and
Newsletter.
The Modern society has come to depend upon reliable electricity
as an essential resource for all aspects of our lives. Do you
ever wonder about the North American Power Grid was created?
This presentation will cover the fundamentals of Electricity along
with the history and current state of the Electrical Grid in North
America. Take a historical journey through the early through the
early discoveries by Thomas Edison and Nicola Testa, following
the progression of Electricity through the 20th Century and into
today.
Speaker Bio:
Ryan Kassinger
Ryan Kassinger is a lifelong resident of
Northeast Ohio and graduated from Bowling Green State University with a
Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Computer Technology and is
currently employed at FirstEnergy in Akron Ohio. Throughout his career at
FirstEnergy, he spearheaded various projects including various CIP
(Critical Infrastructure Protection) Policies and led the Desktop Support
team responsible for the build out of company’s new state of the art
Transmission Control Center in Akron before becoming an Application
Configuration Analyst with Enterprise Technology group.
This included supporting the IT infrastructure for the Physical
Security System. In his current position as an Application Configuration
Specialist with the Contact Center Technologies group, which supports
FirstEnergy's Customer Contact Centers, he specializes in supporting the
IVR (Interactive Voice Response) infrastructure. Ryan currently serves as
the ISA Cleveland Section Treasurer.
